Diversity

We recognise we can always do more to improve our diversity. We also recognise that policies alone are not enough to create the necessary change in attitudes and behaviours. The way to make progress, we believe, is through many small steps rather than one giant stride.

Diversity is an integral part of our business – it goes far beyond “tick box” compliance. It means working with talented individuals from many different backgrounds on creative solutions that add value to our clients’ businesses.

Our presence in over 30 countries with employees speaking more than 100 different languages gives us a wealth of cultural diversity. But for us, diversity goes further and encompasses many more dimensions, such as gender, disability, ethnicity, age and lifestyle.

Why Diversity is Important to Us

We view our diversity as both a strategic advantage and an ongoing challenge. That’s why we are continuously taking action and implementing diversity initiatives to improve our position right across the Group.

Our differences are a source of innovation and inspiration —they enable us to generate new ideas, anticipate market trends and be thought leaders in our chosen markets.

Having a diverse workforce:
• equips us to reflect today’s global marketplace, our clients and stakeholders, and to understand global trends and issues,
• creates an international platform that enriches our offering and services and is a major facet of our Collaborative Business Experience.
• helps us to better understand and adapt to the societies in which we operate.

Respecting Differences
We understand that our clients and employees have different needs and aspirations, and that they operate in different locations and industries, and we aim to both celebrate and utilise this difference. Our aim is to go beyond legislation by truly understanding the diverse needs of both our employees and our clients.

Diversity is an integral part of our business and is promoted both through our UK CSR vision and our code of ethics. As an Employer of ChoiceS, we actively seek new ways to better understand the diverse communities in which we operate.  We have also established strong links with several external organisations such as Business in the Community’s Race for Opportunity, Opportunity Now, the Employers’ Forum on Disability and the Employers’ Forum on Age.
