Why did you apply to Capgemini?
I had heard about Capgemini as an employer who values its employees and who creates a working environment where – besides busy times – people never forget to have fun as well. In line with this, what differentiates Capgemini from other consultancies is their collaborative working approach: Capgemini consults with their clients, instead of at them. This working approach really makes a difference; not only in every day work life, but most importantly when it comes to successfully delivering sustainable improvement to the client.
What is your favourite aspect about Capgemini?
My favourite aspect about Capgemini is that there are so many aspects which make me being enthusiastic about working here. These aspects include the people I work with; the variety of work environment, locations, roles and projects; the challenges which make every day a learning experience as well as the training and support offered. If I had to choose only one aspect, it would have to be the people. I think it is rare to work in a company where your colleagues – no matter how high up in the company– are as approachable and supportive as they are at Capgemini.
Why would you recommend Capgemini as a graduate employer?
If you want to feel integrated and challenged from day 1, Capgemini is the right place to work. The variety of work assignments offered is impressive, as is the scope of each role. Capgemini gives graduates the chance to grow with each role and to ask for training which supports their career development. At Capgemini, each graduate is in the driver’s seat of their own development, which allows everyone to progress at their own pace.
What is the best thing you have learned during your time at Capgemini?
To keep smiling and enjoying my work – no matter how busy it might get at times. I have learned that there are always people around me that I can ask for help and support if needed. I have also learned to progress and grow quickly by stepping in and taking on challenges as they come. Probably the most important thing I had to learn was to say ‘no’ at times when a new opportunity came up, but really did not suit into my schedule – and to realise that people do understand.
What is the best part about your graduate scheme?
Capgemini honestly values their graduates. This means graduates will be working on client’s site from day 1, experience responsibility from day 1 and be an equal team member from day 1 as well. Graduates will be able to have their saying when it comes to choosing new roles and to decide on their development. The fact that Capgemini offers so many opportunities (roles, projects, clients, challenges, learning opportunities, training), but allows for each individual to decide at which pace they would like to progress, really is unique.
