My 3 Favourite Things About the CDC Programme

Posted At : January 2, 2009 11:28 AM | Posted By : Joanna Lewis

I joined Capgemini just 3 months ago and having had a few apprehensions over whether I made the right decision, I can now safely say that I did.   The CDC is one of the most highly regarded graduate training programmes in the management consultancy world - and rightly so!  Here my top 3 reasons why…

1:  THE PEOPLE
I can’t believe how well I have bonded with the other members of the CDC.  The people are generally friendly, ambitious and interesting - already I would call many of them good friends!  The numerous social events (go karting, laser quest, eating out etc.) encourage a huge culture of fun between us.

2:  THE RANGE OF EXPERIENCES
In the CDC you have a wonderful opportunity to experience different roles and industries before specialising.  I’ve already worked on two government projects and am currently undertaking a very exciting supply chain role for a sporting event in London.  Internally, I have delivered presentations, carried out research, prepared bids and become involved in Capgemini’s Platinum Partnership with The Prince’s Trust.  These experiences have helped me develop excellent transferable skills and become confident and excited about taking on new challenges.

3:  THE SUPPORT NETWORK
This consists of your buddy and other members of the CDC (for simple questions), your reviewer (for career advice) and your family manager or the CDC management team (for other concerns).  I have already developed strong ties with my network and feel very reassured knowing there is always someone to turn to if I have a problem.

So, do you believe what I’ve said?  Well if you don’t then you may quickly change your mind when you consider the fact that in a recent survey conducted by the CDC over 90% of respondents claimed they were happy being part of the CDC and would recommend the programme to their friends!
