Aspire

Consulting. Outsourcing. IT. Experience it all with the Capgemini Aspire Academy.

Aspire is the name of our long term partnership with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) for the provision of IT services.

HMRC administers the UK’s tax and customs, and in 2008-09 the department collected £435 billion in revenue and made payments to over 7 million families. HMRC has one of the largest IT infrastructures in the UK and Aspire is one of the largest IT outsourcing contracts in the world. At any one time, there are typically 200 projects underway, delivering the equivalent of 38,000 working days a month.

In 2009, HMRC received a Computerworld Honor Laureate gold medal and was overall winner of the Guardian Computing Excellence in Public Sector IT Awards for projects delivered by Aspire.

The Capgemini Aspire Academy is now open for our September 2010 intake.

The complexity and size of the Aspire contract means that it draws on all the different aspects of our business. In some ways, it’s like having the whole of Capgemini in one place, with consulting, technology and outsourcing services all coming together under one roof.

The Graduate programme is a targeted 2 year programme that gives individuals a range of internal & external learning interventions combined with an opportunity to work on a Princes Trust fundraising project.   The external residential learning interventions at Lake Windermere will enhance and develop all round personal, business and management skills. There will be internal rotations within their discipline and an opportunity to see another side of our business via a 3 month assignment to the Accelerated Solutions Environment.  This programme will provide an exciting and challenging environment for the graduate to grow and develop.

For you, the Capgemini Aspire Academy will mean being able to develop a broad range of experience and skills, working alongside people from a variety of disciplines to gain exposure to different potential career routes, from testing to architecture and project management.

You’ll benefit from the continuous improvement and learning culture that’s at the heart of how Aspire operates. Our training commitment doesn’t stop after you graduate from the Academy; we’re always looking to improve not only the performance of Aspire but also the working experience of our people and provide an average of seven training days per person per year – amongst the best in the IT outsourcing industry.
