Capgemini Business Technology Placement Programme

Accelerated Solutions Environment Placement

The ASE is a unique place within Capgemini that offers clients and project teams the opportunity to spend 1-3 days tackling some of their most pressing business issues. These issues are addressed through events that the ASE team design, facilitate and run. Events are fast paced, exciting, flexible and varied, and are renowned for helping large groups of people work together brilliantly in order to overcome the business challenges they face.

As an Accelerated Solutions Environment (ASE) Knowledge worker you will be responsible for contributing towards the successful delivery of multiple complex workshops across a broad spectrum of subject matter areas within the business. In order to facilitate this success an ASE event needs a team of highly motivated and effective knowledge workers who work in discrete, but highly interdependent areas including: Environment / Music / Graphics / Production / Writing / Knowledge Mgt. You will have the opportunity to learn and contribute in each of these areas, and gain a detailed and insightful understanding of the ASE methodology used to tackle challenging problems.

Event Roles include:

  • Visual inputs – liaise with clients to manage the event inputs and materials & identify effective use
  • Knowledge capture – ensure that all new knowledge is captured (photographed/typed up etc) for use by the business
  • Graphics – drawing/scribing of conversations, produce event materials to bring the event to life, such as badges and holding slides
  • Environment – design and set-up to maximise work productivity production of psychological & physical environment
  • Documentation – capture of adhoc conversations and of informal presentations
  • Production – turning the knowledge into a useful and usable format for the business. This could be the creation of a web site/a powerpoint document etc
  • Writing – design and drafting of event assignments and framing of key questions
  • Greeting - meet and greet assist with managing the event participants

Additional Information: 
Please note that due to the nature of ASE work and the event delivery cycle, the hours worked can sometimes be long and physically demanding.

Location: Telford

Requirements:

CCC grades (or equivalent) at A Level excluding General Studies

We are looking for 2 different skill sets for the above position – those on track for

 

1)      1st or 2:1 in Graphic Design or related subject,

2)      1st or 2:1 in Business & Management or related subject

 

Technology Placement

Our Technology placement programme is a 10 / 11 month programme which runs from Autumn 2012 until Summer 2013.  Over the course of the programme, you will gain exposure to an unparalleled range of technologies, project work and business sectors.  Working on a variety of projects allows you to develop your team working and communications skills as well as allowing you the opportunity to work with key clients and senior project sponsors within Capgemini.  But don’t be expect to be spoon-fed. We encourage our placement students to put themselves in the driving seat and to tailor their training according to their own ambitions and needs.

Throughout the placement programme you will be working and socialising alongside senior colleagues and graduates working collaboratively with our clients.

Technology Training

  • One week induction

  • British Computer Society Business Analysis and Software Development certification courses
  • In house training "soft skill" Master Classes

This year one of our placement students, Aaron Scrivener, won the e-skills placement student of the year award. 

  

Process

Please complete an on-line application form. If successful after screening you will be invited to take part in a telephone interview. The final stage is an Assessment Centre which will be held on site at Capgemini.  After that, if successful, you will receive an offer!
